I suspect due to dust and dirt while playing on the trails. My stock CD player also quit working quite some time ago.CDs that have had tape, stickers or CD-R labels attached to them, or that have had the label peeled off. CDs with a transparent or translucent recording area. CDs that have a diameter that is not 4.7 in. Doing so may damage the CD player and/or the CD insert/eject function.EXCEPT - I noticed that these strips of foam (in place to "wipe" the CD clean before playing) are actually / probably getting dust on the CDs, making the player sporadically skip a lot. So I have a CD player in my car where you slide the CD between two pieces of foam, and it loads & plays and everything's fantastically wunderbar.
